 Here's the scenario:

 - Two backends (BA and BB) and two frontends (FA and FB)
 - FA connects to BB to watch a recording (presumably via BA)
 - BB's hard drives have spun down so takes a while to return start of
 recording to FA
 - BA segfaults
 - FA plays program (but with a "Cannot connect to backend" message in
 front of the picture).

 Both frontend and backends are running current SVN (rev 11251)

 Segfault attached.
