Comment:

 The issue that MythTV started life with nasty v4l cards rather than DVB
 has always been a source of annoyance for me.
 My own homebrew system allowed me to view all channels on a given
 multiplex for a given tuner card, so with only two tuners I could watch
 all the channels that I normally watch from as many machines as a liked
 and set anyone of them to start recording.
 Ok this system was very crude, but it did the job.

 I am amazed that DVB support has been in myth for so long now and nobody
 has fixed the limitation of one tuner = one channel. I am aware that some
 people will have the old style 'premium' cards that give you less
 felxibility than the budget cards, but this shouldn't be a reason to
 cripple mythtv for those users that can grab the full mux and then extract
 only the required PIDs
