 (In [9218]) The start of the Mac FireWire backend checkin, that I should
 have committed
 ages ago. This is about a half of it, and these bits should be harmless.
 Only change I have so far made to Dave Abrahams' patch is in configure,
 to disable firewire if FireWireSDK20 isn't installed. See #1282
