Comment:

 Ivor, I believe MythTV needs to set up the framebuffer global and local
 alphas at startup. My PVR-350 testing setup does not use the framebuffer I
 just display the MythTV UI in X11 and view the video in the PiP display on
 my monitor, so I can't test this easily myself.

 L8R, I believe you can set the alpha values with the ivtvctl utility. The
 driver comes with a README that tells you about these values. Also if you
 could make a patch that would help greatly, you can see an example one of
 the alpha values being set in videoout_ivtv.cpp.
