 channel.channum is currently 5 characters wide, which is not wide enough
 for some QAM channels from my cable provider ('102!#10', for example).
 Altering the table to make it 6 chars wide seemed to fix the problem for
 me, and Tom Craddock on the dev list suggested making it 8 wide
 ('1008_608' for example).
