 Nigel, I think a per-directory version number is going to be rarely used.
 The vast majority of the time people do a full-module update/checkout, so
 I think this is just going to be confusing (to developers) if it starts
 reporting lots of different version numbers for each and every bit..  Just
 me, but I think the original 'limited to libmyth' way is a bit easier.

 Either way, though, please just make sure it works for releases and people
 without svn installed, and feel free to commit either method.
