 Bob, I couldn't make heads or tails of your logs. Please use '-v
 record,channel' for the backend, and '-v playback' for the frontend.

 John, it looks like you are experiencing a variation of #971, somehow you
 are not getting the ringbuffer switch into the real recording after the
 pseudorecording ends. This acts like the transition from one recording to
 the next when using a recorder such as the PVR-250.
