Backport of changes from JDS (needed for LxM Syth theme), original log message: Added a buttoncenter element for the background that allows themes to turn off the automatic centering of buttons along the Y axis.  With <buttonspread>no</buttonspread> and <buttoncenter>no</buttoncenter> buttons always start at the top left of the button area, and have no gaps between them
