 U.S. digital TV stations choose between two formats for their HD
 broadcasts, 1080i or 720p.  So, in normal viewing, users frequently switch
 from progressive to interlaced content.

 Currently, the Deinterlacing setting is global, effecting all channels and
 files.

 Can the interlacing setting be turned on and off dynamically, to adapt to
 the type of video being displayed?

 Or, the interlacing flag and mode could be a per-channel setting.
