<pre>My guess is your Backend computer is set for the wrong time zone,
perhaps when initially configuring it (as in when installing Xubuntu)
you used the default of GMT instead you Pacific Time Zone.? Remember to
also configure to automatically switch for Daylight Savings Time!!
I'm also vaguely recalling in an old-old computer here I had to set the
time zone in the BIOS.? I doubt if your computer is that old, just
mentioning.? Also, if your computer doesn't keep the time and date when
powering up there's a coin cell battery on the motherboard which needs
replacing.

It was recommended to me since I don't run Windows, that I should keep my hardware RTC set to UTC.
