<blockquote type="cite" style="color: #007cff;">Hi all -
<br>
<br>
<br>
I've had problems recently getting shows to record; most
recordings
<br>
fail. This has started since the new web interface became the
default
<br>
(mythweb being deprecated). I don't record a lot of shows
anymore; the
<br>
last successful one was was about 5-6 weeks ago; I had
scheduled that
<br>
one through the old Mythweb.
<br>
<br>
I have noticed that it now seems to be set on UTC; I'm in the
western US
<br>
in the Pacific (UTC -8:00 at the moment) zone. When I select
a show
<br>
for recording, the "Upcoming recordings" tab shows the start
time as
<br>
eight hours later than the show's actual start time here.
<br>
<br>
I've never had this issue before (and I've been running MythTV
for many
<br>
years). The last few recordings I have tried failed (the
capture device
<br>
(HDPVR) doesn't fire up (and yes, I've made sure to
power-cycle it
<br>
beforehand, and it does show up in the backend-status list)) .
<br>
Wondering if this time zone issue is the cause?
<br>
<br>
<br>
I'm running 34-fixes on Xubuntu 22.04. Please advise -
thanks!

From a command line run date:
<br>
<br>
root@<a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="mypvr:/etc#">mypvr:/etc#</a>
date
<br>
Mon 10 Feb 2025 21:26:54 NZDT
<br>
<br>
At the end of the output the current timezone is displayed. In
my
<br>
case, NZDT = New Zealand Daylight saving Time. If your timezone
is
<br>
wrong, change it to PST.
<br>
<br>
From the XFCE System Menu, find the Time and Date program.
From that,
<br>
you should be able to use the Unlock button at the bottom, and
then
<br>
set the timezone at the top. Then reboot.
<br>
<br>
Or from the command line, use "sudo settimedatectl set-timezone
PST",
<br>
and reboot. I have never used this method, but the Internet
says it
<br>
should work.

Before you do any changes, please post the output of
<br>
$ timedatectl in the terminal.

Mine looks like this:

<p>Thanks. For what it's worth, I've always had the hardware clock
set to UTC on this machine but have never had a problem in the
past with any app converting it to Pacific time, MythTV included.
This is the first time I've seen this.
