I've noticed a delayed response on my general system (running
Ubuntu 22.04) there is a delay the first time I ask for the
directory listing after a reboot and occasionally later. I equate
it to the system is rebuilding the index (into a memory cache?).
I've also noted this delay occasionally on my MythTV system --
uses spinning rust which is much slower than a solid state drive.

So I'm thinking an initial and occasional follow-up delay is
normal. The others indicate tested the drive for health; I'd also
suggest a backup as when a SSD fails it takes everything, not just
a section.
