The simplest of these suggestions made a huge improvement. Rather than <br>
pass through the individual USB tuner, I passed through one of the <br>
motherboards USB controllers at the PCI level. This gave sufficient <br>
improvement that, for a while, I thought it had entirely fixed the <br>
stream corruption, but a longer period of testing showed up that there <br>
are still some problems. I'm still evaluating whether it might be so <br>
close now as to be acceptable.<br>

Possibly, though, I might end up going for the Homerun. I hadn't <br>
realised that was even an option here in the UK. I'd seen posts here <br>
about it, but not followed them up and just assumed it was something US <br>
specific. I'm slightly put off by having to have a separate device, <br>
along with an extra power socket, and to have to stick another NIC in my <br>
server, or get another network switch, but the attraction is that <br>
presumably using a Homerun is guaranteed to solve the problem.<br>

While evaluating my current set up, I want to experiment with minisatip, <br>
but I'm very confused about how channel scan works for that scenario. <br>
Apparently, I need to generate the M3U playlist somehow. I've read that <br>
w_scan is needed to perform an initial scan, and then something else <br>
should be run to generate the full list of channels, but I haven't been <br>
able to find any definitive information on it.<br>
