They will be automatically deleted after a short time, whatever MythTV
does, I think a day or two, I am not sure of the rules for Live TV.

You can delete them. When in the LiveTV group you can also select a row
press menu and delete the whole row.
I seldom use LiveTV, so adding it to leanfront was a case of doing the
minimum to make it work. It cannot work the same as mythfrontend, where
mythfrontend starts a recording for the current show, then switches to a
recording for the next show when the first show ends, this requires
backend interaction not available via the API. Leanfront instead makes a
time based recording from the channel, so the recording file does not
have the program name, just a default name with date and time.

Note that LiveTV in leanfront is unsuitable for channel surfing. It
takes 15-30 seconds to tune a channel, so I have not provided a way to
change channels while watching. You have to exit playback, confirm, and
then select another channel.

If you use LiveTV and you have a specific suggestion for improving it,
please open an issue in github.

I thought it was useful to leave the LiveTV recordings in the list and
allow them to be automatically deleted by the system. If you want them
deleted immediately upon exit that should not be difficult.

Possibly I could provide a way to invoke LiveTV from the Program Guide
if that would help.
