some time back and the ‘Keep alive” solution I found was:</p>

In the GUI Settings under "Session and Startup": </p>
<p style="margin-left: 0.49in; margin-bottom: 0in; line-height:
100%">
1) In the "Application Autostart" I unticked xfsettingsd. </p>
<p style="margin-left: 0.49in; margin-bottom: 0in; line-height:
100%">
2) In the "Session" tab I selected xfsettingsd and clicked
"Quit Program". </p>
