Not necessarily. And, since you've also tried under Windows with the same results and you've eliminated the cable, it would indicate a bad card.<br><br></blockquote><div>Thanks Doug, I've solved it. I have an Onkyo TX-NR616 AV receiver and from time to time it stops outputting any audio and I have to reset it. I didn't think that was the issue here because some of the symptoms were different this time around. I figured it out by plugging the HDMI cable directly into the TV instead of the receiver, and the audio worked so I know it must be the receiver that was at fault. When I did the reset on the receiver it all worked again.</div></div></div>
