    <p>I don't think it's the device, so much as the power supply
      Hauppague sells with it using inferior parts. You might be able to
      find a better third-party wall wart.<br>
    </p>
    <p>Personally, I wired up a couple of USB cables directly to my
      server's 5v power supply, and I've not had any trouble since.</p>
