A few years ago, I had some lightning problems(fried a router, UPS, and other items), but the switches that I had survived at that time so I believe the recent failure of the switch was related to that event. It wasn’t a hard failure currently either.</div><div><br class=""></div><div>The switches I use are cheap 8 port 1gb that are usually around $30 US. If you have another switch around, try connecting to them, or if you don’t, make sure to try them on your router ports and see if they still fail. If they don’t fail when connected to your router, it’s time to replace the switch.</div><div><br class=""></div><div>I consider the switches that I use to be ‘disposable’ and if they fail I’m not out much.</div><div><br class=""></div><div>Bottom line, plug your tuners directly into the router to see if they work there.
