                  my post so while you confirmed my original thought on
                  which version is stable, the discrepancy between those

          title="Release Notes - 30">30.0</a></b> on 01-February-2017"</p>
    <p>Wiki page also refers to "Check out <a rel="nofollow"
        class="external text" href="http://code.mythtv.org/trac">Trac</a>
      for development of <a
        href="https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Release_Notes_-_29.0"
        title="Release Notes - 29.0" class="mw-redirect">29.0</a> and
      the <a

      branch." which would suggest that 29.x is still the "stable" or
      "current" release.... maybe.</p>

      you'd like to get the v29 stable branch, do this:
