<p>That wiki page is referring to MythTV before 0.21 I don't think
it's relevant anymore. We store everything as utf8 in the DB now.</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>There is a script to repair and optimize the DB called <a
href="https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Optimize_mythdb.pl"
title="Optimize mythdb.pl">optimize_mythdb.pl</a> </p>
<p><a class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual:Periodic_Maintenance#Optimize_the_Database">https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/User_Manual:Periodic_Maintenance#Optimize_the_Database</a></p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>I that doesn't work I'd look at trying different network cables,
router etc like Peter suggested.</p>
