I don't know, but a few months back someone seemed to be
able to scan on DVB-S2, at least when done so through the
transport editor, <a

to have a simple way to test that the card works before

configuration screens of myth to produce sounds when the
fault was misconfigured drivers or bios or amplifier or
whatnot.
I can confirm that DVB-S2 scanning does work on version 29. I raised
ticket 13095 to cover an issue just with the transport editor,
basic scanning worked fine. The interface is difficult to use
however depending on which theme you are running. I normally use
Steppes but found this task to be easier in MythCenter.
The easiest way to test the card is to install 'kaffeine'. This has
a very simple setup mechanism for selecting the satellite and
setting up the LNB. Make sure you have killed mythbackend though.
