    You need to run mythtv-setup on your backend, go into the first
    option and check the ip address settings. Make sure your server IP
    and master backend IP are an externally visible IP address, i.e. not

    Make mysql accessible from other machines. Find your mysqld.cnf
    file. It will be somewhere in /etc, in my case it is in
    /etc/mysql/mysql.conf.d/<wbr>mysqld.cnf. Find the line that says<br>
    bind-address = 127.0.0.1<br>

    On your new remote frontend, in the home directory from which you
    will run the mythfrontend, create a $HOME/.mythtv directory. Copy
    into that directory the config.xml file from your backend. Edit that
    file and make sure that the database server ip address is set to the
