I've spent countless hours on it over the last 15 years, and yes, there is some satisfaction when you finally see it work, after a patching a kernel, dealing with changed implementations (Jarod)...etc over those years. I suspect lirc_serial is not really maintained, serial ports are dying. </div><div><br></div><div>I've since moved on to Flirc (a year ago), though it's not 100% perfect, I'm much happier and have no more concerns upgrading MythTV/Linux.</div><div><br></div><div>Not saying it's for you, but a little over $20 for it can save a lot of time.</div>
