<div dir="ltr">I did a fresh install of Mythbuntu 16.04 with Nvidia drivers (card is GeForce 8400 GE). This went
fine and it booted up with the XFCE desktop. <div><br></div><div> The software center said
there was an OS update. I installed it and rebooted and now instead of
the XFCE desktop I have an X interface (I guess), the icons, etc.,
are are broken, and mythtv setup launches automatically, in a window instead of full screen. </div><div><br></div><div>I remember this being an issue last time I installed
Mythbuntu 12.04 a long time ago, but I can't remember the fix. Something having to do with invoking VDPAU in grub, but I'm not even sure if this would apply 4 OS versions later. </div><div><br></div><div>I guess I could just reinstall and not do the update but I have the feeling this will cause problems with upgrades later on. Can anyone tell me how to get the desktop back?<br></div></div>
