Check for any other conf files that might be in play in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/</p>
<p style="margin:0px 0px 1em;color:black">Otherwise post the contents of your mythweb.conf and probably my.conf (obscure pw etc) and see if anyone spots something.</p>

netstat -peanut | grep 3306</p>

</blockquote></div>Thanks for the response.  Some good points there, but I had already cleaned out the apache server configs and verified mysql was working correctly.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">I finally got it working again.  I'm not sure exactly what the issue was, but I progressively removed and re-installed more and more packages and eventually after fixing some apache issues in the re-installed packages by hand, it began working again.  I removed mythweb, apache, and php and cleaned out any related files.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra">So, for anyone running into this in the future (judging from all the questions posed in various forums, this seems to be a recurring problem with every version upgrade) - my advice is to purge everything related to mythweb, re-install it.</div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br></div></div>
