I'm using the VAAPI Normal profile with a Braswell N3700
based NUC, using Bob 2x,HW and fallback to One Field 1x,HW.
These delays aren't enough to stutter playback by much, but I
notice the CNN crawl doesn't look fluid at all. I have "enable
realtime priority threads" and "extra audio buffering" checked
in the General Playback settings.
I've been running VAAPI on an old ECS Liva for a year or two now. I
noticed things like the crawl jitter too. In the end I just decided
to accept it and we've been fine with it. That is to say, the wife
hasn't complained.
