Haven't been seeing those artifacts on the Liva X. Looked at AMD, too, but the price advantage seems to be with Intel here. I thought about hanging on until the Apollo Lake NUC's are released (should be soon), but the main advantage there seems like 4K, which isn't in the cards for me for a while.

The NUC5 was a sub $200 upgrade, using a laptop hard drive I had hanging around.
I just pulled the trigger on the NUC5PPYH. I'll report
on my experience. The Liva X, using a lower spec N2708
Celeron, works well as a frontend in the bedroom. I expect
the newer N3700 based NUC will do even better.
I have my fingers crossed that support for more advanced
interlacing options (and filter options) are in the cards
from the Devs.
I've been happy with my older Liva running Fedora 21. I assume you
meant Celeron N2807.
Haven't looked at this hardware for awhile. I guess the ECS Liva X2
is the current model.
