<div>Yes, it is mostly in the area that pops up on screen

I looked at the picture and I see some white marks that appear in
certain dark places on the screen. Is this what you refer to? It
does not look like any theme layout. Which part of the theme layout
does this look like to you? If you have "bleed through" you would
see the "Please Wait" message showing through (on Mythcenter wide or
Steppes), or whatever is used on your theme just before a video
starts playing. That is the background over which the video is
painted.<br>
<br>
It seems to be some sort of VDPAU problem. There are some
troubleshooting tips in the wiki.<br>
<a class="m_-252614146028636156moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/VDPAU" target="_blank">https://www.mythtv.org/wiki/<wbr>VDPAU</a><br>
Did you disable "composite"? I always need to do that, but it
normally fixes tearing, not white flecks.<br>
<br>
Do the white marks stay where they are on the picture or move
around?<br>
<br>
Most 720p broadcasts are 60fps. Maybe it is the 60fps causing the
problem rather than the 720p size.<br>
<br>
A work-around that you could use is to set up a new playback profile
that uses OPENGL settings for 720 rows and VDPAU for higher
resolutions.<br></div></blockquote><div> </div><div><br></div><div>The area with the white marks appears where the channel icon would be if I hit the info button twice. The area to the right of that would be where the show information is. If you look close you can see that some of the white marks look like letters. (mythbuntu theme)</div><div><br></div><div>The pic is not the best. I can try to get better but its hard to pause at just the right spot. Will post up one when I can get a "perfect shot"</div><div>If the area above the screen was dark, the white marks would appear right over where the "tuner name" area is. </div><div><br></div><div>Also, the white speckles appear in different areas if I change the theme. They almost always appear where the theme borders are with any particular theme.</div><div><br></div><div>I can use the opengl as a work around on all but one of my systems. The other one is old and under powered system that has trouble with any settings except vdpau slim.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Also, I dont think this would be a problem with vdpau or drivers. If it was, would I not get the same thing on recorded programs??</div><div><br></div><div>I cant be sure, but I think the recordings play back without issue because there is not nearly as much "info from the theme" behind the video??? </div><div><br></div><div>Is my thinking correct on that????</div><div><br></div><div>Anyway. I will try the disable composite and see if that helps.</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you all for the help. </div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000">
