I'm a retired engineer and of course, one of the first rules that
you learn is to change one thing at a time and document the results.<br>
Well I broke that rule because the backend box is a little hard for
me to get to.<br>
I did<br>
"A solution to the SQL Fatal Error mentioned above is a tweak to
the /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf file. Add
"sql_mode=NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION" (without the quotation marks) to
the end of the /etc/mysql/conf.d/mythtv.cnf file. I believe the
error was caused by an incompatibility between mysql 5.7 and
databases from older versions of mysql."<br>
<br>
followed by a apt-get update + upgrade.<br>
The error is gone and the backend appears to be up and running ( big
major "YES" ).<br>
This is my first real .28 venture and tomorrow I should be able to
test it with my RP3 also.<br>
If both are up and running I will really be happy.<br>
Thanks to all,<br>
Bert <br>
