<div dir="ltr">Fred,<div><br></div><div>Thanks for pointing out that my problem was similar to yours....</div><div><br></div><div>I feel a bit like an idiot for not recognizing that, as I was on this list and following your issue before I had attempted the upgrade, but the symptoms I was having were pointing me more in the direction of an unsupported capture card.</div><div><br></div><div>I now realize that when I was in mythtv-setup, my backend was still running and holding the capture card open for EIT scan, and that's why it would show the 'unknown error' on the capture card screen.</div><div><br></div><div>OK, so after I modified the service files (which I will detail below) I am still having a bit of a problem. I am not sure of the correct ipv6 address to use for the backend. It seems that whichever address I choose will be the wrong one after rebooting.</div><div><br></div><div>I think it's still the same problem maybe, only I need to make it wait until all the inet6 addresses are "up and running" before starting the backend. </div><div><br></div><div>OK, so here's what I did:</div><div><br></div><div>Enabled Network Manager wait-online service:</div><font size="1"><br>systemctl enable NetworkManager-wait-online.service</font><div><font size="1"><br></font></div><div>Then, changed the file /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/mythtv-backend.service</div><div>so that instead of having "network.target" on the "After" line, it says "network-online.target".</div><div><br></div><div>(I made the same change to the mysql.service file in the same directory).</div><div><br></div><div>Then I ran the </div><div><br></div><div><font size="1">sudo systemctl daemon-reload </font></div><div><font size="1"><br></font></div><div>command to make those changes official and rebooted.</div><div><br></div><div>However, I still get the issues with the ipv6 address, and also after this mornings Software Update, the mythtv-backend.service file must have been overwritten, so it no longer has the network-online.target entry, but since it is still in the mysql.target file, I think it is still in effect.</div><div><br></div><div>I think my next step will be to create the service file to restart the mythtv-backend later in the boot process, but have not done that yet. Got to go now, and since everything works until the next reboot....</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for your help, I was just about to give up, wipe the drive and start over!</div><div><br></div><div>George</div></div><div class="gmail_extra"><br clear="all"><div><div class="gmail_signature">-- George</div></div>
