Sorry to spoil your theory, but those drivers are in the correct directories. You'll just break it if you move them. The card has a few chips that control different functions on its board (a tuner and a demodulator, in this case). So the "saa7164" driver (which is in the drivers/media/pci directory) pulls in those other two to support the other chips. The "dvb-frontends" directory has nothing to do with MythTV or the MythTV frontend. It's just the standard directory that media driver authors install their demodulator drivers to.<BR>

Knew something would break if moved them, not to mention the PATH correction -- one reason I didn't do anything on my own! Looked later at the entire list -- got a bit side-tracked at finding a potential something at the top -- there's more for the cards listed later. <BR>

Still haven't figured out why the now both the HVR-1600 and HVR-2250 tuners are 'unavailable' according to the Frontend. I had deleted the cards in hopes of them re-installing correctly. No such luck. Will take a look a dmesg's log to see if something looks like a candidate. Isn't workring so can't break it much more! <g> ...Has to be something super-simple.<BR>
