<p dir="ltr">OK.  I'm using a HDPVR now with my cable BOX, so that's fine.  I am still wondering about channel changing. </p>

AFAIK, most current DirecTV boxes only output HDCP protected<br>
HDMI and analogue component, so you would need to consider<br>
something like the HD-PVR connected to the component outputs.<br>
The HD-PVR is reasonably well supported in MythTV.<br>
