Does anybody know how to get this remote working with mythtv?

I had this all setup and working fine 4 to 5 years ago. root ssd crashed
and had to reload. should have grabbed all my working configs but didn't

don't recall having to go through all this nonesense.

sorry if i'm cranky but just got out of the hospital and really feeling
kinda crappy.

need to get this fixed. setup works fine with a plain old mce remote. but
the point of the rca remote was to control power to samsung 55 inch led and
denon receiver

any input would be appreciated
Yeah that's been my goto remote for years. I move the VCR function to DVR and program Microsoft to it. Always worked for me.
So what are you using in your /etc/lirc config files ?

/etc/lirc# cat hardware.conf
# /etc/lirc/hardware.conf
#Chosen Remote Control
REMOTE="Windows Media Center Transceivers/Remotes (all)"
REMOTE_MODULES="lirc_dev mceusb"
REMOTE_DRIVER=""
REMOTE_DEVICE="/dev/lirc0"
REMOTE_SOCKET=""
REMOTE_LIRCD_CONF="mceusb/lircd.conf.mceusb"
REMOTE_LIRCD_ARGS=""

#Chosen IR Transmitter
TRANSMITTER="None"
TRANSMITTER_MODULES=""
TRANSMITTER_DRIVER=""
TRANSMITTER_DEVICE=""
#Enable lircd
START_LIRCD="true"
#Don't start lircmd even if there seems to be a good config file
#START_LIRCMD="false"

LOAD_MODULES="true"

# Default configuration files for your hardware if any
LIRCMD_CONF=""

#Forcing noninteractive reconfiguration
#If lirc is to be reconfigured by an external application
#that doesn't have a debconf frontend available, the noninteractive
#frontend can be invoked and set to parse REMOTE and TRANSMITTER
#It will then populate all other variables without any user input
#If you would like to configure lirc via standard methods, be sure
#to leave this set to "false"
FORCE_NONINTERACTIVE_RECONFIGURATION="false"
START_LIRCMD=""

That's what I have and it doesn't work
Just the straight mceusb config.
Happy Holidays all!!

I have been running myth for a while and have never got screensavers
to work in a satisfactory way.

I run fedora, some frontends have nvidia cards so run as vdpau, some
use builtin Intel GPU and use vaapi.

If I turn on screensaver and power management.....

screensaver (just blank screen) after 15 minutes idle.......monitor
goes into power save mode after 30.

On all the frontends if I run VLC (configured same as above) and a
video is running then the screensavers and power save mode do not kick
in.....I don't have to do anything.

On myth the screensavers/power save mode DO kick in so there has to be
some activity every 14 minutes.

What I ideally want is.....

If there's a video running (either video or recording) then I want the
screensaver/powersave to stay inactive.....but if a myth menu screen
is up then screensaver to work as it would normally.

There's loads of conflicting information about configuring x or
xorg.conf....but frankly why can't the app behave as vlc does and
require no use tinkering?

VLC is probably using DBus to control the screensaver and MythTV only
recently got the support to do that in the fixes/0.27 branch.

Which MythTV version are you using (i.e. run mythfrontend --version)?
