Do you have the specs for the barrel connector?
The original one I received with the HDPVR from Hauppauge was a NetBit Model
KSAC500200W1US. I could not find specs on it. The adapter markings indicate
5V, 2A and the barrel is center positive. In other forums it was noted that
a D-Link AF1805-A is compatible. When the NetBit died in Nov 2011, I used
that for a couple of years. The size of that adapter barrel is a 5.5mm x
2.0 mm barrel. In a prior list discussion, the recommendation was to use
a switching power supply over a wall wart. So in Jan 2014 I changed to a
adafruit 5V 4A switching power supply. Yeah, probably overkill in the amps
but I did not find anything around 2.5 to 3A. The size for that adapter's
barrel is 5.5mm x 2.1mm. Long story 'round... but that appears to be it.
