As a point of reference, I have had at least three HDHR power
supplies die on me over the years. In one case, I was getting
flaky, corrupted recordings, or none at all. I looked at the HDHR
and the lights were on and I could ping it on the network, so it
looked like the power supply was okay. I swapped in a new one and
it fixed all of the problems. A bad power supply can look good
enough, but may not be. It is easier to swap in a new one and see
if it fixes the problem, rather than trying to measure it to
determine if it is good or not. The HDHR does a pretty good job of
telling you if the power supply is good enough or not.

The last power supply that died, when I went to unplug it, it burned
me. I was lucky it did not start a fire. The HDHR is a great
product (I have four of them), but the power supplies are their
Achilles heal. I would gladly pay an additional $5.00 or $10.00 per
HDHR for a better quality power supply.
