I spoke too soon. The front end displays some times and not
others. If I restart mythfrontend it eventually comes up. What I
always get is the textured blue background but no menu elements

There is a white flash on the screen before it settles down to the
blue background. Could that mean something?<br>

But again if I restart the frontend a couple of times, eventually it
comes up. Fortunately I have a button on my remote setup through
irexec to a script to do just that.<br>
