<br />Sounds like a permissions problem. To check for that, have you tried running the channel changer script as root?</div>

<p>I will give that a try.  I think I did but it doesn't hurt to double check.  I also need to confirm that the device is showing up in /dev.  I do see the device being recognized in on the dmesg logs.</p>

<p>Apologies if this posts twice.  Long story...</p>

<p>I went over everything again.  It was a combination of both over thinking it and the commandir_change binary not running as root.  </p>

<p>The latest lirc worked fine.  No need to run the older one from the commandir website.  That's where I was over thinking it.  Once I just installed the latest lirc and tested it as root everything was fine.</p>
