</span>Scaling is definitely needed. Where it's performed can vary. You can<br>
do it in the CPU, in the GPU, or you can send a 1080 output signal to<br>
a 720 TV/monitor and it may do the scaling within the monitor. Some<br>
displays support that, some don't.<br>
<br>
That said, scaling is one of the easiest and quickest parts of the<br>
calculation (especially compared to deinterlacing), so it usually<br>
isn't an issue.<br>
