<p dir="ltr">I'm responding to this thread for clarification of misinformation I've posted. In hindsight mythbuntu control center did not restore a mythconverg backup, it was a mythbuntu backup that got me going again, and had I used the command line as per the Wiki I could have restored the mythconverg backup from the previous day, and not had to prune my recordings so drastically. I was able to confirm this on a rsync backup on a different disc, different box. Moving forward I'm no longer using MCC, just the command line, now that I have a fair grasp of the Wiki, I should be able to rectify this sort of problem without interruption of database or recordings. Furthermore I'm hoping that inserting the "<a href="http://optimize_mythdb.pl">optimize_mythdb.pl</a>" into the "mythtv_database" script will prevent this problem all together. Many thanks to all respondents, and to the devs for such an amazing system, my wife and I really enjoy watching shows in the evening without all the interspersed noise. Myth TV Rocks. Daryl<br>
