MythTV Users,
There's a development effort underway to, among other things, change
the two-level capturce card and card input model that MythTV has used
for years into a one-level model. The plan was to call everything a
capture cards, or more likely, just a card. It has been suggested,
however, to use a new term other than card since MythTV can record
from many other "things" like local boxes connected by USB and
ethernet to IPTV and HTTP streams from the cloud. If we were to use a
new term other than card, what do you all suggest?
But then, I think we would need to do something about existing "Video Source" label, too. I think that should be named "Guide Source" or "Listings Source".

Sometimes that is only channel tuning data, not necessarily listings. That's why I suggested "Channel Data" because primarily it is a list of channels (lineup) that a given input/source/whatever is able to record programs from. The program listings are associated with the channels but not necessarily in a 1:1 relationship (program listings could be re-used for multiple lineups).

Karl
