If money is no object, look at the home automation providers<br>
that include entire solutions (from smartphone apps, to<br>
touchpad controllers for wall permanent mounting, to the actual<br>
IR and bluetooth emitters/transmitters). Far more than just<br>
TV. Control4, rti, and crestron come to mind (there are others).<br>

While the opinion is not universal, there is a claim by some<br>
that *having* to pull out your phone (or tablet), or recover it<br>
from the charger, and then point it at a IR receiver was not<br>
entirely friendly for constant interaction (although it could<br>
clearly work for some).<br>

The real problem with using a phone as a remote is: unless you live on your own, everybody in the house has to have the same app loaded, and want to watch the same things you do.<span class="HOEnZb"><font color="#888888"><br>
