I have a feeling if I contact Comcast to downgrade or lock my cable

I'm not sure if the comcast equivalent forum is of the same quality, but it's certain work a shot. It appears you used to be able to downgrade HDHR products, but a few years back they implemented a lock to prevent it from happening. Very unfortunate. I'll make sure to NEVER "upgrade" mine. </div><div>Under the assumption that new devices would probably come with new firmware (maybe not quite yet, but if not, then soon), If you get desperate, you could try to obtain a used one off of ebay.
