I finally had time to try one of them. I want to try the other but don't have the time for it right now.<br>

The one that worked was to find the directories with images in /var/lib/mythtv that appear to hold the images I've seen in the background of the theme MythCenter-wide:<br>

banners<br>
coverart<br>
fanart<br>

I deleted all the files in each of them and then changed the permissions on each of them to r--r-Sr--. That didn't eliminate the background image from any program already recorded, but it did stop showing them in newly recorded programs. Over the last couple of days we've watched and then deleted the programs with images as background in the program list, so now the list looks as it did before. There's still an image down in the bottom right corner, but I don't mind that since it isn't background behind some text.<br></blockquote><div> </div><div>If your seeing residual images after deleting the fanart, then you probably need to clear the frontend image cache in /home/<frontend user>/.mythtv/</div><div>Pretty sure you can safely blow away all of the folders that contain the word "cache" and they will be regenerated.</div><div> <br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
When I get time I want to try the other two -- the revised version that has a lighter image, and the one that is a version of the theme that doesn't display images. But for now, this seems to be working.<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Editing the theme is pretty easy using override files. Good luck. </div></div></div></div>
