</span>No need unless you want mythtv being able to create files in the<br>
directory itself. Access to underlying directories is garanteed by the<br>
World rx rights.<br>

</span>The access through the group is so that you can grant users access by<br>
making them member of the mythtv group. Again cosmetically speaking I<br>
would change the group to mythtv.<br>

There might be issues you haven't picked up on yet or future problems.</div><div><br></div><div>It might be just me but one of the first things I learnt with Ubuntu (noting I am a ubuntu newbie) is that permissions are king - if something is not working it is pretty much the first thing I check.</div><div><br></div><div>If changing the user:group ownership to mythtv causes a problem in my mind that is a good thing because it lets you fix whatever the real cause is before it causes something more severe or problematic to occur.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div></body></html>
