</div></div>That looks as it should. Why I ask, is that when you added the<br>
recordings directory with the rights "drwxrwxr-x 2 mythtv root" to the<br>
storage group it said it was inaccessible while it should have through<br>
the user rights. When you changed the group from root to mythtv it got<br>
access obviously through the group rights.<br>
If the same goes for the recordings above it means it will be able to<br>
play them (for the group has read rights) but it will not be able to<br>
delete or edit them (for only the user has write rights, the write<br>
rights to create them came through the directory for there the group<br>
has now write rights!).<br>
So keep an eye on that. If after all deleting goes ok, I don't<br>
understand what happend. If you get problems there, we have to look<br>
into the user. Possibly two users have the same uid or even something<br>
I can not yet think of.<br>

With my new understanding of SD's I'm thinking of removing the link my son made and correcting the path to the Tb drive with all the recordings on it, that shouldn't affect the files on the drive, as long as the new dir's are chown'd and chmod'd properly, right? I'm also thinking of making use of other partitions on the 250 Gb drive for metadata and the like again keeping permissions in line should be all right? I've got a 50 GB and a 100 Gb partition, maybe videos on the 100 and the balance of the /var/lib/mythtv dir on the 50. thoughts?</div></div><br></div></div>
