There is a mythfilldatabase.log but it hasn't been updated since December, so I'm wondering whether that log file is a leftover from a previous version of MythTV. I grepped /var/log/mythtv/* and didn't find any recent mentions of mythfilldatabase.

/var/log/mythtv/* is owned by mythtv.mythtv

There is no cron job. I think MythTV handles this based on a database
entry.
However, I just checked my Program Guide, and I have a full 2 weeks
worth of listing data. The last time I manually ran mythfilldatabase
was several days ago, so it appears to me that Frank's workaround is
working. I just can't find evidence of it in my logs.
