My main FE runs 24/7 and on idle sits at about 1-2% CPU usage. It has<br>
4Gb memory but is only using 1.7Gb at the moment.<br>

Run 'top' from a command prompt to see what your memory usage is, it<br>
will also show you what program(s) are using your CPU, and work from<br>
there.<br>

usage is. I also forgot to mention that mythfrontend.real is the<br>
process that is using 30+% of the CPU and 30%-72% of the memory which<br>
seems unexpectedly high for idle usage.<br>

That's *really* strange. What distro are you on? What hardware are you<br>
running on? What else is installed? Which version of Myth are you running?<br>

All are running Mythbuntu 12.04 with fixes/0.27. Two are Nvidia ION based systems and the third is an AMD dual core with an Nvidia 210.<br>
These are dedicated to Mythtv so I haven't installed anything beyond the basic distro and the Nvidia driver.<br>

If I restart mythfrontend it initially runs with about 2% CPU and 13% memory when idle. When I play a recording it runs at 18% CPU and 20% memory. While browsing the recordings the memory usage rises to 40% which I presume is the result of loading all the coverart and fanart images.<br>
