I guess a major factor in my decision is that I already own the
drives and the controller and if they don't get used for this they
are likely to collect dust for quite a while. Your commend about
running hardware RAID10 having only disadvantages is more than a
little interesting though. Care to expand?<br>

I'm a tad curious as well, as my old Poweredge 2850's are cranking
along quite effectively with their hardware RAID.<br>
