I have been a long time Ubuntu / Debian user so the change is interesting since not only am i trying to learn a new distro but also systemd. Any help would be appreciated.<br>

Is mythbackend running, how was it started, where was it installed from? The Archlinux package installs the necessary files, but you will have to follow the wiki to get the database setup, run mythtv-setup and configure your tuners, etc and enable and start the daemon. If the log directory is empty it's because mythbackend has never run.
