When I play them under MythTV, the MythTV plugin for the job plays them correctly, and identifies the embedded subtitles. However, when I enable the subtitles they are never displayed, despite the fact that the internal MythTV player acknowledges that they are on. I tried with mplayer adn the subtitles are indeed displayed without any problems.</div>

Most likely, you don't have libass enabled. Check the configure output. You will need a package like libass-devel to be installed on your system.</div><span class="HOEnZb"><font color="#888888">
